How long does it take for the fund to pay out the withdrawal benefit?

The time it takes to receive your withdrawal depends on which portion of your fund you're accessing:

Savings Component withdrawals: 7-14 working days after you accept your quote.

Vested Component withdrawals: About 21 working days for complete cash withdrawals, or 30-45 working days for transfers or partial withdrawals.

These timelines assume your tax affairs are in order and you've submitted all required documents (copy of ID, completed instruction form, and proof of banking details).

If your withdrawal is delayed, it's usually due to outstanding tax returns or debt with SARS, which can delay or even prevent your payout. System delays in processing tax directives through SARS may also extend the timeline beyond our control.
